Ransome spent time as a journalist in Russia after the first World War, covering the Revolution and it’s aftermath. Whilst in Moscow, he commissioned the building of the Racundra from designer Otto Eggers, with the intention of sailing back to England. However, with delays in building and the onset of winter, this was not to materialize, leaving time only for a six week proving trip. This account was written whilst on board during this trip.

Condition : Textblock clean throughout with occasional light spotting.

Binding : Bound in full dark green goatskin, gilt all edges. Handsewn endbands and grey paper endpapers. Gold lettering to spine and upper board. Gold border to upper board. Contained in a cloth slipcase.
