Colette's first four novels - the Claudine stories - were published under the name of her writer husband Henry Gauthier-Villars who used the pen name 'Willy'. After their divorce, Colette had no access to the sizeable earnings of the novels,  the copyright belonging to Henry.

Condition : Textblock clean throughout in excellent condition. 

Binding : Bound in full yellow goatskin. Hand-sewn endbands with gilt edges and black paper endpapers. Gold lettering to spine and upper board. Gold border to upper board. Contained in a black cloth covered slipcase.
